Northern Berkshire Pediatrics welcomes all new patients.
Here are answers to frequently asked questions from new families:
Which Provider should I choose?
We work hard to try to pair your family with the pediatrician or nurse practitioner best able to meet your needs.
Because so many factors can go into your decision our staff will assist you in making your choice for a primary provider (for example, do you prefer a male or female provider? A doctor who works on a specific day or in a specific location?),
We strive to give you as much choice as possible. Patients are generally free to switch between doctors in our practice if they feel another doctor can better meet their needs.
Should I meet the Pediatrician before our first baby is born?
We have a limited number of “meet and greet” appointments available, but in general we don’t feel like its necessary. We realize you have a lot to do in those last few months of pregnancy! We promise we’ll be here for you when you need us.
What should I do before my baby and I leave the hospital?
Plan on calling our office (413 663 8365) for an appointment before you and your newborn leave the hospital. We see all newborns promptly after discharge, most often within 24 hours of their leaving the hospital.
What about Medical Records?
For newborns, request that the hospital fax us your records before you leave. Take a copy of all hospital paperwork to your first appointment as well.
For older children transferring from other practices, please request that your records be transferred as soon as you choose us to be your pediatricians. Records can sometimes take a long time for other offices to process. We will not generally schedule you first intake physical until we have received those records. Our staff can assist you if obtaining them is proving difficult.
Do you take my insurance?
We make every effort to accept all insurances. Please check with our staff to ensure we are able to accept yours. Medicaid patients should consider choosing Tufts Medicaid for their children’s Medicaid provider.
Our office accepts Mass Health and most private HMO and Military and also VT BC/BS and VT Medicaid.
We are part of the Tufts ACO.
This practice serves all patients regardless of ability to pay.
Discounts for essential services are offered based on family size and income.
You may apply for a discount at the front desk.
