Immunizations

We at Northern Berkshire Pediatrics believe childhood vaccines are the single most effective innovation in modern medicine.

Vaccines:

Keep kids out of emergency rooms and hospitals.  Reduce the number of x-rays, CAT Scans, blood draws and other tests Pediatricians have to order.

Allow us to use fewer antibiotics. Decrease office visits for families (If your child has a fever, we feel much more comfortable managing them at home if they are vaccinated.)

Cut down on time missed from school, daycare and work.

Protect the sickest and most vulnerable among us from being exposed to these illnesses. (That means the young newborn in your house, your child’s elderly grandparent, or the kid in their class with a broken immune system).

Vaccines save lives. A LOT of them.

We strive to get every patient protected against every disease we can by following the schedule recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics. See the  AAP™ immunization page  for details

We believe that scientific evidence, our experience and common sense all point to vaccinating our children. We vaccinate our own kids on time, every-time.

We are also happy to talk with you about any questions you have about vaccines or the vaccination schedule. We also realize that every parent wants to do what’s right for their child, and that it times it can seem like there are a lot of voices out there suggesting that vaccines aren’t safe. We are happy to discuss what’s best for your child any time.
