Meet our team at Northern Berkshire Pediatrics! Please take a few moments to learn about our skilled practitioners and our friendly, nurturing staff.

At Northern Berkshire Pediatrics, we consider it both a great joy and responsibility to care for children. Most of us are parents ourselves, so we strive to be understanding and available to the families we are privileged to serve. We are honored that you have chosen us as your child's primary medical provider and are confident that you will be pleased with the quality of care and service that we can provide you and your family.

A vital part of our service to children begins with our outstanding staff who works hard to manage and maintain a professional, caring and supportive environment for our patients in a timely manner. Our doctors are lifelong learners. Not only have they received advanced medical training in pediatrics, they continually pursue ongoing education to stay abreast of the latest in child health care.

Your child's health is as important to us as it is to you. We look forward to providing you with excellent medical care in the Northern Berkshire area.

Marc S. McDermott, M.D.

Marc S. McDermott, M.D.

Dr. McDermott was introduced to the Berkshires when he was a college student here in the 1980’s. Later in life he chose to move his wife and four children to the Berkshires because he knew his kids would love growing up here. Prior to joining Northern Berkshire Pediatrics in 2007, he was a physician at the University of Utah, Primary Children’s Hospital where he worked in the Emergency Department. Before becoming a doctor, he was a middle school teacher. Professionally, he is interested in getting kids to realize that being healthy is really fun.

Dr. McDermott and his wife and four children enjoy outdoor activities such surfing, snowboarding, and rock climbing. He is a member of a local rock band, and on Halloween he brings his guitar to the office and tries to make up a song about every patient.

Kris Savitsky, FNP

Kris moved to Williamstown when her husband, Ken, took a teaching job at Williams College. She joined Northern Berkshire Pediatrics in January of 2014. Her nursing experience was always in Women’s and Children’s Services, so choosing pediatrics as her area of specialty was a natural fit.

Kris lives with her husband, two children, and two cats. After growing up in Indiana, the Berkshires offered many new activities they’ve come to love such as skiing, biking, kayaking and hiking. Her son and daughter are both avid cross-country skiers, so skiing has become a family affair and they spend as much of the year as possible chasing the snow.
